Passionate about unveiling the soul of old stone structures and creating natural wines, Isabelle Jolly and Jean-Luc Chossart moved to the heart of the Vallée de l’Agly in 2005. They sought to restore Mas Ferriol to its previous splendour.
This 18th-century wine-growing estate had formerly been the purveyor of wines to the Queen of England and Napoleon III. The historical estate quickly resonated with their own interest for the wines of yesteryear and proved to be the ideal location to develop artisanal wines inspired by ancestral methods.
This inspiring encounter between winemakers and the Mas Ferriol led to the residence of a Muscat de Rivesaltes in aged casks, a Rivesaltes ambré hiding out in demi-muids, a Rivesaltes tuilé lazing in cement tanks and a Rancio sec in demijohns, later cohabitating in a solera. Elsewhere, sparkling wines rested on their crowned heads in a wooden rack and the dry wines were presented in a palette of red, white and rosé.
Admirers of nature and the environing Roussillon terroir, all Jolly Ferriol wines are made without sulfites or other additives.
